This was the principal wing of the house containing the parlour with great chamber and other principal chambers above. Although the angle tower could have contained a narrow stair it is more likely that it merely lighted a lobby providing access to the hall. Note the barley sugar twist chimneys and decorative finials which were a feature of houses in the south-west in the mid 16th-century.
